چکیده

A highly linear down conversion mixer with moderate gain used for 2.4GHz RF applications is presented in this paper using 0.18μm CMOS technology. The proposed mixer incorporates current bleeding technique & degenerative resistors to improve linearity and conversion gain. Also the negative feedback configuration of the circuit gives flat conversion gain increasing the overall bandwidth. The simulation results reveal that the proposed mixer shows input referred third order input intercept point (IIP3) at 13.13dBm, 1dB compression point at -9.94dBm with conversion gain of 9dB. The circuits operates at 1.8V power supply and dissipates 9mW power. Keywords—Conversion gain, Gilbert Cell, IIP3, Linearity, Mixer, RF CMOS. ©KY PUBLICATIONS SHIVEN PANDYA

Design and Analysis of UWB Down-Conversion Mixer with Linearization Techniques

Frequency translation which converts the original signal to a much lower baseband frequency signal is a vital role in the RF receiver design. In this work, a high linear down-conversion Gilbert cell mixer at 100MHz is designed using TSMC 0.18μm RF CMOS process. Linearity is an important performance measure in RF circuits particularly in mixer design. In this paper, the two types of linearizatio...

IEEE Paper Template in A4 (V1)

In this paper a 3.5 GHz down conversion mixer with 20 MHz IF output signal for location-fixed WiMAX systems is presented. The proposed mixer is implemented with TSMC 0.18μm RF CMOS technology with 1.5V supply voltage which utilizes Current-Bleeding and Current-Reuse techniques to improve noise figure and conversion gain of conventional Gilbert-type structure. This mixer achieves 12 dB of conver...

A High Linear And Low Noise CMOS RF Front-End For 2.4GHz ZigBee Applications

A 2.4 GHz CMOS RF front-end using for ZigBee application is described. The front-end consists of a low noise amplifier and a down-mixer and uses a 2 MHz IF frequency. A common source with resistive feedback and an inductive degeneration are adopted for a low noise amplifier, and a 20 dB gain control step is digitally controlled. A passive mixer for low current consumption is employed. The RF fr...

Low Power UWB Weak-Inversion Mixer for RF Transceiver

ABSTRACT: A low power ultra wide band down conversion mixer is presented briefly in this paper. In this design, transistors are biased to operate in weak-inversion region so as to reduce the total power consumption of the mixers. The proposed circuit uses source-driven topology and has been designed using 0.18μm standard RF CMOS process. The simulated result shows a total power consumption of 1...

A 2.4GHz Low Power Highly Linear Mixer for Direct-Conversion Receivers

In this paper, a 2.4GHz low power downconversion mixer with high linearity for direct-conversion receivers based on a standard 0.18um CMOS technology is proposed. In the circuit design, Gilbert cell architecture and Common-Gate configuration are used. A simple buffer is applied in the IF output. Simulation results show that the mixer can operate at 2.4GHz and obtain the conversion gain of 11.08...
